Showing our support for under 16 golferIan Davies
We are proud to announce that we are supporting an up and coming Otley golfer named Alex Harm.
Alex first started playing golf in 2011 and became a junior member of the Otley Golf Club in 2013, winning the Spencer trophy and the Glendenning trophy in the process. In 2014 Alex was asked to join the Yorkshire Development Squad after winning the Cookridge Hall Junior open, one of the biggest golfing events in the junior age category. In 2015, Alex took part in a rigorous training regime set up by the Yorkshire Golf Squad which later led him to take part in the Yorkshire Under 16s contest in Doncaster and the Yorkshire Boys Competition in Huddersfield and went on to win the Scarcroft championship at the end of the Summer. In 2016 Alex continued to gain some impressive results with a 3rd place finish in the Yorkshire Under 16 at Driffield golf club, a win at the Panal Junior Rose Bowl, becoming the youngest ever club champion of Otley Golf club at the age of 15 and took part in the European championships in Spain, finishing 42nd among 150 of the best players in Europe.
Since the start of the year, Alex has competed in a number of competitions around the country with him taking part in events within Yorkshire as well as the North of England Youths competition in Middlesbrough. Alex is about to round of the golfing season with the Yorkshire Six-man Team tournament at Sitwell Park in Sheffield, two finals competitions at Otley Golf Club, the Moortown Masters contest in Leeds, The Prostate Cancer Championships at Lyme Golf Club in Chester and the Junior European Open Qualifiers in Leeds which, if playing successful, Alex can compete in Spain once again in the Junior European Open.
From all of us here at Tate Oil, we wish Alex the best of luck in his upcoming competitions.
